Urban Meyer Is Clearly Not Taking Any Mess

It seems as if the drinking water in Columbus has influenced the decision making of the current head football coach of Ohio State. Urban Meyer who was notorious for going light on his players after arrests while he was at the University of Florida has flipped the switch at OSU. Meyer has taken away the scholarships of Jake Stoneburner and Jack Mewhort after the two settled their court cases from their arrests a few weeks ago. This statement was from Urban:

“We are disappointed with the decisions made recently by two of our football players,”

“Jake Stoneburner and Jack Mewhort will each be removed from athletic scholarship beginning with the summer term, and they will continue to be suspended from team activities until stipulations are successfully met. They will have an opportunity to return to the team in good standing following the summer session.”

Both players can make their way from the dog house if they follow Urban’s rehabilitation process, whatever the heck that is. Either way it’s clear that Meyer is taking a different approach to punishment than he took at Florida. He is totally in tune with the OSU base. They have no patience for lack of discipline. This move would certainly make the die hard alums feel better about future situations off the field. Looks like I may need to eat my words.
