Well, the bomb threatthat caused Les Miles to end practice early yesterday was the least of the Tigers’ worries. As it turns out, LSU starting RB Alfred Blue will be missing some time due to his knee injury sustained in last weekend’s blowout vs Idaho. Miles confirmed this afternoon that Blue will miss their rivalry game against Auburn and “it may be a couple weeks” before his junior
RB returns to the field.
To make matters worse for LSU fans, The New Orleans Time-Picayune, wrote earlier that Blue will “likely [be sidelined for] several more games, ” after the Auburn game. There are of course rumors swirling that he’s done for the season but our sources say that is not the case.
All in all, we don’t see Blue’s injury being a huge blow to Miles and his Tigers because they haven’t depended on one single running back in recent memory. Kenny Hilliard, who currently leads the Tigers in rushing with 303 yards and a 8.3 YPC average will become the new starter with a healthy Michael Ford getting a decent workload. The injury should have little to no impact on LSU’s ability to handle Auburn this weekend.
