One Day Closer

Today marks a dark spot on the world wide sports canvas; the day after the MLB All Star game. Major sports fans have nothing to look forward to today. No baseball. No basketball (unless the WNBA catches your fancy.) I’m sure there are some third world soccer matches taking place today. No more afternoon Wimbledon grunting from Maria Sharapova, which saddens me most of all. And of course, no football.

But hark, what is that I see on the wall? Oh yes, today’s calender reads 50 days until college football kickoff! It’s like waiting for Christmas to come, and instead of spending the morning opening presents and listening to your drunk uncle ramble on about the good ole days before social media and how he is determined to convince you that Phillip Fulmer was the greatest coach to ever roam the sidelines, instead you embrace this day as another day closer to feeling that love of the game.

If we see you in Atlanta December 1st, know that it’s never too early to prepare for next season. And as for the National Championship in Miami… well that’s a nice place for you to retire.
