ESPN college football analyst, Craig James, is running for U.S. Senate. This afternoon on Twitter there was a ton of chatter about one of America’s favorite sportscaster leaving his gig at ESPN for greener pastures. It has been widely speculated that James has been interested in politics for quite some time. He will start campaigning to be the next Senator from the state of Texas.
What party will Craig James represent? Here’s a surprise, he’s a Republican. A lot of people think that James has no shot of winning. These people clearly have no idea how politics work. Craig James has been a politician since he was in high school. His recruitment to SMU was a political campaign. With regards to SMU’s receiving the death penalty, James has never admitted to taking any improper benefits, which fits the mold of a true politician.
James is already familiar with how to run a campaign. He ran a smear job to destroy Mike Leach and influenced Texas Tech to fire their coach. It is proof that James is savvy with handling an adversary. The way James handled the Leach situation is a clear example of how he will handle his political campaign. He will be focused, driven and relentless. He’s a Karl Rove wet dream.
Regardless of how much people hate Craig James on the national level, he still has a great shot of winning. Even if his opponent has a huge war chest, James has a built in high profile that will stretch his dollar further. Here’s a simple question: How many people can name the people Craig James is running against? I sure can’t, but I know who Craig James is. He doesn’t even need a platform, he is a brand name, especially in the state of Texas.
Craig James was born to be a U.S. Senator. He has been a slimy weasel for most of his life. Who occupies the U.S. Capitol? Slimy weasels. In the Senate there are exactly 100 of them, two from each state. Craig James will fit right in with that bunch if he were to win. Many people say that we don’t need another scam artist in Washington. This maybe true, but people seem to keep voting these clowns back into office.
I don’t particularly find Craig James to be that smart. He’s clearly not honest. I know nothing about his political bents, and doubt he actually has any real convictions. He seems like the type who would say what people want to hear. That’s why he is running as a Republican, because a Democrat doesn’t have much of a shot of winning in Texas. If he were running in a blue state, I have no doubt he would run as a Democrat. Craig James is not running for Senate to serve the good people of Texas. He’s running for Senate for the same reason everyone else runs for Senate, they want to live on easy street. It’s a great way to get paid without having to do any real work. It’s actually the easiest way to steal money sort of legally. We all know Craig James has been stealing ESPN’s money for all these years so it’s par for the course.
