Boston College Kicks Montel Harris off Team

A big time development coming out of Boston College which is going to piss a lot of their fans off. The team’s best offensive weapon, running back Montel Harris has been kicked off the team due to violation of team rules according to head coach Frank Spaziani. The BC head coach had this to say in a statement today:

“Montel Harris has been permanently dismissed from our football team due to a repeated violation of team rules,”

“We are grateful for his contributions the past four seasons and will support him in completing his degree requirements and in his future pursuits.”

So we don’t get much information, other than he violated some rules. Harris missed the majority of the 2011 season due to injury, and many believed that Harris’ absence is what kept Spaziani from losing his job. Now there will be no excuse for the BC head coach if the Eagles have another disappointing season. No matter how you slice it, this is a big blow to the program. Harris is one of the best running backs in the country and was selected as the pre season offensive player of the year in the ACC in 2011 before he got hurt.
