ASU’s Vontaze Burfict Choked Student

Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict is an emotional player, no doubt.  He also has a propensity for foul play, having attacked teammate Kevin Ozier in the Sun Devils’ locker room recently.  The latest news comes from SportsbyBrooks:

Actually Doug, armageddon would be more like the public somehow finding out that Vontaze Burfict CHOKED OUT AN ASU STUDENT AT THE SRC during a pickup basketball game. And attacked one of his own teammates in another pickup game.

Oh. Wait. I guess they just did.

How do you plan to phony up those altercations for the local and national media? [See photo above] as one of the many examples of your (mostly private) media misinformation campaign. (With Mark Brand leading the way!)  Oh, and what about Burfict’s altercation with Steve Broussard during last season? Care to deny that happened too?

I’m a little fuzzy on what took place during those incidents, could you kindly enlighten us? I await your response: [email protected] I know some of the folks who report on the NFL draft would like to know too – since some of them told me about those incidents. In addition to ASU sources.  Wonder what the month leading up to the NFL Draft will look like? And how that will make ASU look? *shudder*

It’d be a real shame if you tried to ignore this and ended up getting exposed by the local media.

Wonder what President Michael Crow and Bill Post would think about that?  ASU deserves so much better. They really do.

Wow, right? We know that coach Dennis Erickson tried to keep Burfict’s previous personal foul under the radar (not so fast Dennis, especially when you have guys like SportsbyBrooks on top of it) and so he raises a great point- Where is President Crow in all of this?  They are still trying to stay away from the media, but its only a matter of time before they’ll have to address Burfict’s behavioral issues on and off the field.  Its simply not a safe environment for ASU students and staff right until that happens, period.
